Aya Takano: I love thee

I love the work of Aya Takano.

It is so amazing and strange. I like how everything she draws looks like something real, but has been slightly warped or stretched. The lack of distinction between dream and waking states appeals to me also.

Paranormal encounters at reception

Tuesday should be re-named black hole day.

Any second now I'm going to open the top draw of my desk and I will find my calculator, send/recieve stamps, paper-clips, high lighters et cetera are gone. In their place will be a swirling purple vortex that will suck me into itself. I'll be falling upwards surrounded by my floating stationary and back wards ticking clocks. Trees are turning back into seeds, and all the spirits of my dead relatives and pets will be there, apart of the fabric that made the vortex. I am safe.

Stars will move past me flickering on and off - signaling something to me in morse-code-WAKE UP!

I am back at my desk.

When our eyes are closed

Looking at this picture, I think of the seconds after the flash has gone off. When everything is plunged back into darkness.

An open letter to my uncle

Uncle Martin...

I don't know you, but feel I do, and wonder about you often. You hover in my head like a cloud. Your head and shoulders are smokey and unfocused around the edges. I make up your face because I dont remember it at all. In my thoughts, you look like an explorer from the 1900's and have a gold tooth. You are not big in size

Are you left handed like me?

I would like to hear your stories about your time in the cave. In the abandoned army bunker in the hills of Papua New Guniea. I'd like to know what you ate and drank, what creatures you saw, and the things you watched people do, who did not know they were being watched. I imagine your little eyes sparkling in the hills, taking in what they can -

I did not know what to say when mum said you became a heroin addict. I imagine maybe it was you trying to hide in that cave again, high above other humans. In the comfort of a mysterious dark space.

I am glad you are strong and are still on the methedone program.
