I can think of about ten things that I have seen in my whole life that were totally amazing or scary or wonderful to the point of being seared into my memory.
When I was about 17 I went to Rickett's Point beach with my mum and my friend Ally to see what was reported on the news as a strange glow caused by a chemical reaction in the algae.
When we went down there and stomped in the sand and the rock-pools, shock waves of electric blue and green forked outwards like lightning. It was like fireworks were exploding under our feet. There was one piece of algae that oozed this glow like syrup, it was incredible!
