My friend John was really thoughtful and generous and gifted me two framed photos of the Himalayas taken in the 1930's. They have a wonderful script in pencil beneath each photo, describing the images taken. I will post pictures of them soon.
John is a collector and dealer of old photographs (mostly from the 19th century) - he gave the photos to me because I draw and paint mountains a lot. And I just really like the look of them - something about them captivates me.
I like volcanos a lot too, I am working on a small painting of the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo (Philippines) at the moment for a forth coming exhibition.
